Open letter from Kevin Wolfe

Kevin Wolfe and dog Dear Rolling Hills members,

As the new manager, I am greatly looking forward to meeting each and every one of you throughout the upcoming summer. This being said, I would also like to give you all some information about myself.

After graduating from Fairfield High School in 2004, I spent 4 wonderful years attending the University of Dayton. As a Flyer, I majored in middle-childhood education with a concentration in language arts and social studies. It’s no coincidence that I chose to become an educator as both of my parents were teachers, my twin brother currently teaches 6th grade within the Little Miami school district, and my older sister is currently getting her master’s degree from Miami University in secondary education. Upon graduating in May of 2008, I was hired as a 6th grade language arts and social studies teacher within the Mason school district. Although challenging, my first year as a teacher has been great and I couldn’t be happier.

For the past 5 summers, I worked at the Fairfield Aquatic Center. I was a lifeguard for the first two summers, a head-lifeguard for the next two summers, and an assistant manager last summer. I learned a great deal about all of the hard work that goes into running a public facility. As a head lifeguard and an assistant manager, I was responsible for training our lifeguards, planning weekly in-services, and ensuring that the pool ran smoothly on a daily basis.

When I heard that Rolling Hills was looking for a manager, I didn’t hesitate to throw my hat in the ring. As some of you may know, I owe many great childhood memories to this pool. My family had been members since 1983, and at the age of five, I joined the swim team. I was a member of the swim team for 10 great summers. Looking back, I looked forward to spending my summers at the pool because there was always such a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. This feeling of community is a tribute to all of the great individuals and families who have been members throughout the years.

I am anxious to get started and I am greatly looking forward to a wonderful summer.
